“ Met Mauro, the owner, while out looking for a bite last night. He was just closing up, but upon hearing that we were from away, he invited us to a glass of Prosecco before he left. Hr told us a little bit about his restaurant, and we said we'd be back. Tonight, the 4 of us came back, sat on the patio and ate everything they offered us. Food and water came basically unbidden, and when the dust settled, we were happily stuffed full and out 135. The highlight of the meal was the meat platter for 2. Seared, salty meat on the bone served sizzling on an iron platter with potato slices and watercress. Dessert was a hazelnut cream pie topped with vanilla gelato It was not too sweet and was a great way of finishing off the evening. I'm sure an adequate meal for 4 could have been had for less than 80, but we overindulged and couldn't finish everything. It felt authentic and welcoming, and was a great experience. Thanks to Mauro and his staff! ”
“ The true Italian experience . Incredibly tasty food with fresh products and cooked like in the kitchen of an Italian family. Not to be missed even if you don’t live or stay in the area . Strongly recommended ! The pasta Cacio e Pepe is a must and prepared inside the melting cheese on the site . ”
“ Great little family restaurant. First night in Rome and wanted somewhere close to our hotel, but not the overpriced one inside the hotel, nor the one next to it. Taverna Sacchetti has very reasonable pricing for their food. The pasta is fresh. I would recommend this restaurant if your are looking for a good home cooked meal, away from home. ”
